A sorta quick video demonstrating the capabilities of the IGen 20/20 night vision monocular by Night Owl. This scope differs from standard night vision devices in that it uses optics and video processing and video can be recorded from the unit via a standard video cable. This test was performed on a moonless night and the unit was not stabilized. The scope works quite well without the infrared illuminator which may be beneficial to Bigfoot research since the IR lights do emit a red glow that may be easily seen by a nocturnal brush monkey. This video was recorded using an old EYE TV A/V to firewire converter running in to a Macbook Pro. There is a camcorder available that allows recording from an external source (Aiptek AHDR).

Gen 3 PVS 7B Night Vision Test | Scope.
Here is a quick video of a comparison between 2 PVS 7B Gen 3 night vision Goggles. First is the SightOwl PVS 7B with a claimed “old stock” ITT 64 lp/mm tube. The second is an Excalibur PVS 7B “Choice” model, with a 57 lp/mm tube (this company no longer exists). Both units are used. Both videos were shot on different nights on the same locations, the lighting conditions were similar. For the Sighowl test the moon was full but there was some cloud cover, there were plenty of stars visible. For the Excalibur, there were no stars visible, and about a half to 3/4 moon, but there was a thin cloud cover (thinner then in the Sightowl test). Both days there was fresh snow on the ground, and the black spot in the middle of the screen is from the camcorder.
